VALHALLA 78, EL CAJON VALLEY 45
EastCountySports.com staff report
EL CAJON – The Valhalla Norsemen tied a San Diego Section record with 21 made three-pointers in a 78-45 Grossmont Hills League win over visiting El Cajon Valley on Friday night.
The Norsemen weren’t shy about putting shots up from long-distance.
Senior DOMANIC
Dillon holds the school record with 12 made three-pointers in a single game back in 1991.
It was sophomore JOE AVALOS that had the hottest hand early. He made three of his five threes in the first period.
Senior JORDAN GAINES, who is usually more deadly with his mid-range game, was just as confident stepping behind the line, making five triples, as well.
Senior TREVONE WIMS was responsible for the other two field goals from downtown for the Norsemen.
The Norsemen emptied the bench and had a few more three-point opportunities but couldn’t connect for any field goal over the last seven minutes, which was played under a running clock.
Over that span, the Braves dominated with a 21-0 run to end the game.
