STEELE CANYON 64, VALHALLA 43 – The Cougars won an important early-season game in the Grossmont Valley League race against the Lady Norsemen.
Steele Canyon raced out to a 30-14 lead after halftime, thanks to a 21-8 edge in the second quarter.
Steele Canyon improve to 2-1 in the league standings to remain one-game behind first-place Santana.
The Cougars are now tied with Valhalla for second place.
No scoring information was reported.
FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 66, GUAJOME PARK ACADEMY 19 – The Knights had three players score in double figures after leading 41-12 at halftime over the Frogs.
Junior ELLIE TURK scored 24 points, had seven assists and seven rebounds.
Freshman NATALIE BRAVO had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore ARANTXA FONSECA added 14 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, four blocked shots
The Knights are atop the Ocean League with a 3-0 record. FCHS is 15-6 overall.
EL CAJON VALLEY 50, GRANITE HILLS 17 – The Braves got into the win column in the Grossmont Valley League by defeating the visiting Eagles on Tuesday.
El Cajon Valley improved to 1-2 in league and 12-5 overall on the season.
MOUNTAIN EMPIRE 45, BORREGO SPRINGS 22 – Eight players registered points in the scorebook for the RedHawks, led by junior DALE JUAREZ, who had nine points.
Seniors KAREN CORTEZ and MACKENZIE NOLAND, along with freshman CAITLYN NOLAND, all had eight points.
HIGH TECH SAN DIEGO 39, LIBERTY CHARTER 35 – The Lions led 15-8 at halftime, but were outscored, 15-10, in the decisive fourth quarter.
