EL CAJON – The Liberty Charter Lions stunned the Braves with a fourth-quarter comeback and then went on to win, 58-55, in overtime at the Future Aztecs Tournament at El Cajon Valley High.
The Lions trailed 39-31 after three quarters but had three players finish in double figures to help pull off the upset.
El Cajon Valley appeared on its way to a win following a dunk by
Senior JAVIEN LANKFORD led the Lions with 14 points and four blocked shots.
Liberty senior ALEX FERRER had 12 points and nine steals.
Sophomore TYLER SNELL had 11 points and three steals for LCHS.
Lions sophomore JONAH BELPREZ had nine points, 16 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.
Liberty Charter improved to 7-6, while El Cajon Valley fell to 7-8.
