FULLERTON (12-5-2018) – Hope International University senior guard Rhiana Dougan came off the bench to pour in a season-high 27 points, including five triples, leading the Royals past visiting San Diego Christian College, 81-50, in Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball action Tuesday (Dec. 4) night.
Dougan scored seven of her points in the second quarter when Hope International outscored the Hawks.
Three other starters for the Royals – Imari Clinton (16 points), Sydney Lopez (14) and Rhianne Omori (12) – also scored in double figures, moving HIU to
For San Diego Christian (5-3 overall, 0-2 GSAC), Hannah Myers and forward Henriette Gahmig each posted 10 points.
However, the rest of the ballclub shot just 25 percent (10-40) from the floor, as Hope (8-2, 1-2) built a 33-point lead by the second half.
The Hawks will play their conference home opener on Saturday, entertaining 15th-ranked The Master’s College at 5:30 p.m. at Grossmont College.
