FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 68, TEMECULA VALLEY 61 – The Foothills Christian Knights won their season-opener at the Battlezone over Temecula Valley on Monday.
JAREN NAFARRETE scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the first half, as the Knights led 48-28 at halftime.
FCHS jumped out to a 22-10 lead after one period.
The Knights led 68-42 at the end of three.
VALHALLA 63, ESCONDIDO 61 – Senior DOMINIC SAFARTA (33 points), a transfer from Christian, scored the decisive bucket with eight seconds left.
EVAN O’NEILL added 20 points for Valhalla (1-0).
