The Highlanders on the day won convincingly behind their pitching and also the bats coming alive early on.
Things started on an Avery Perez hit, Alofa Collins bunted for a hit but an error by the Monarchs allowed both runners to advance. Both runners came into score on a one out base hit by Laurali Patane. Leading 2-0 the Highlanders added a third run as Liz Bernadine who came in to run would come around to score.
The Highlanders added more runs in the fourth inning as Karina Hanks led off the inning reaching on an error, she came around to score on a smash double by Bella Bordine, Nicole Hernandez reached on an error, Nikki Flores followed with a base hit. Another single by Perez and Collins tacked on another RBI to make it 6-0.
Perez for the Highlanders added another RBI in the top of the fifth as they would go on to push across seven more runs to round out the scoring.
Perez on the day went 3-4 scoring 2 runs and an RBI.
Patane would get the complete game victory as she only allowed a hit and struck out 3.
VALHALLA 17, EL CAJON VALLEY 0
Pitching was the name of the game as both Lexi Schmehr and Lily Metsch combined to throw a no-hitter against the Braves.
Valhalla would push across five runs in the bottom of the first inning led by Samantha Green who crushed a grand slam over the center field fence to score Jade Hill, Rachel Shellstrom and Kennedy Labshere.
The Norsemen would add more runs in the bottom of the second inning Hill led off with a single, she would later score on an error which allowed Labshere to reach, a couple batters later Delaney Stettler walked which scored Labshere, a couple batters later Kely Olson doubled to score both Victoria Villegas and Stettler to push the lead to 11-0.
They would round out their scoring in the bottom of the third with six more runs which included a double by Hill to score Frankie McGuire.
