CITY-WESTERN LEAGUE
CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC 11, PATRICK HENRY 1
The Patriots couldn’t keep up with the #1 ranked Dons despite scoring the first run of the game as Savanah Chapman singled and would eventually score on a base hit by Jessica Dewitt to make it 1-0.
Unfortunately, the lead didn’t last as Cathedral Catholic scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-1 lead and never look back.
For Patrick Henry, Dewitt went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Patriots while Chapman went 1-for-3 with a run, Andrea Wright also had a hit as did Ari Rios.
Cathedral Catholic was led by Jacey Bourgeois who roped two triples and drove in five runs while going 3 for 5, Jayden Cunningham went 3 for 4.
Pitching-wise, taking the loss for the Patriots was H. Jenks who went 6 innings giving up 7 runs on 12 hits while walking 3 and striking out 4.
For the Dons, Megan Faraimo struck out 15 on the day in the complete game victory.
