With the game tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Centurions Audrey Continelli came up and laced a single to score the game-winning run.
For the Centurions, Continelli would go 2 for 4 with the GW RBI while they would as a team scrap 12 hits on the day off Cougar pitching.
Neither team was able to do anything offensively until the top of the fourth when Bianca Morales doubled with one out and scored on a two-out single by Amanda Whipple to give Steele Canyon a 1-0 lead. However, the one-run lead would be wiped out in the bottom of the inning when Alexi Wyckoff had a two-out base hit to tie the game 1-1.
Moving along to the top of the seventh inning for the Cougars, Tayler Thomas led off with a single, Whipple walked and Grace Richter reached on an error to load the bases. With one out Marley Rimoldi drew a walk to score Thomas and a couple batters later with two outs Audrey Bagge drew another bases-loaded walk to score Whipple which made it 3-1.
University City started the bottom of the seventh with two straight hits before Richter retired the next two batters. However, the Centurions would get a couple base hits and do the damage.
Taking the loss for the Cougars, Richter who went 6 2/3 innings, giving up 4 runs which were all earned on 12 hits while walking 3 and striking out 2.
On the other side getting the victory was Natalie Minteer who went 7 innings, giving up 3 runs of which only 1 was earned on 3 hits while walking 6 and striking out 12.
