In a repeat of their game against each other from this past Saturday, the Vaqueros used a big inning to claim the decisive victory.
The Vaqueros got rolling in the bottom of the first inning as Katie Collier (3-3, 3R, 2 RBI, 2B) singled and Hannah Davis (2-3, 3R, RBI, 2B) drove her in on a double to make it 1-0, Alexa Williams (3-4, R, 2 RBI, HR) followed with a single advancing Davis to third and with two outs Allyson Von Yokes (2-3, 2R, 3 RBI, HR) singled which scored Davis to make it 2-0, Brandy Taylor singled scoring Brooklyn Fukushima (RUN) who came into run for Williams to make it 3-0. El Capitan would round out their scoring with a double by Kiki Angeles (1-2, R, 2 RBI, 2B) to lead 5-0.
San Diego would cut into the Vaqueros lead in the top of the third inning with a couple runs of their own to trail 5-2.
However in the bottom of the fourth inning was when the offensive fireworks flew for the Vaqueros as they pushed across thirteen runs to blow it wide open.
Leading off was Kim Garcia (2-3, 2R) who would single, she would score on a double by Collier, Davis singled, Collier would score on a miscue and Williams smashed a 2-run bomb over the left field fence to make it 9-2. The Next batter Bailey Olaveson (3-4, 2R, RBI, HR) roped a double and Von Yokes jacked another 2-run blast over the center field fence to make it 11-2. They would go on to score seven more runs capped by another home run by Olaveson to center field.
Williams for the Vaqueros went 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 2 to get the victory.
