HELIX 13, HIGH TECH HIGH CV 0 (4 1/2 INNINGS – DUDS BY DUDES TOURNAMENT)
The Highlander bats came alive sparked by McKenzie Flores and her 6 RBI’s on the day.
Helix in the bottom of the first inning pushed across four runs off the Bruins as Flores (3-3, 3R, 6 RBI, 2 HR) bombed a two-run dinger over the center field fence that scored Avery Perez (1-3, 2R) who reached on an error. They added more as Laurali Patane (2-4, 2R) singled and Kasey Castro (1-3, 2R, RBI) walked, both advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a ball hit by Nicole Hernandez (2-3, R, 4 RBI, 2B) that was bobbled to make it 4-0.
Another two-run jack by Flores in the bottom of the second over left center scoring Erin Brown pushed the lead to 6-0.
Helix added four more runs when Flores knocked in a couple runs on a single and Hernandez drove in 2 runs on a roped double.
Garnering the complete game victory was Zoe Kuhlken who only allowed one hit while walking one and striking out 3.
