MONTE VISTA CLASSIC
EL CAPITAN 5, VALLEY CENTER 4
It was a great day out in Lakeside as the El Capitan Vaqueros were able to knockout the Jaguars in the last at-bat to pull out the one-run victory.
The Vaqueros had the lead but the Jaguars were able to come back and tie the game and take the lead heading into the late innings. El Capitan behind some offense was able to come back and tie the game and in the bottom of the seventh up stepped Madison Rosales who laced the game-winning hit.
Garnering the victory for the Vaqueros was Alexa Williams and Kylie Mead came in and tossed some relief work.
It was a good all-around win for the Vaqueros as the Jaguars are a Division II team.
MONTE VISTA TOURNAMENT
MISSION BAY 6, HELIX 1
It wasn’t a good day for the Highlanders at home as the Buccaneers limited the Highlanders to a lone run on the day.
It was a scoreless contest heading into the top of the fourth inning when Mission Bay broke through and pushed a run across to lead 1-0. They would extend their lead 4-0 with three runs in the top of the sixth inning.
However, Helix finally got on the board with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to make it 4-1. Unfortunately, the Buccaneers were not done offensively as they added two more runs in the top of the seventh to round out their scoring.
