Three Griffs on All-PCAC South top team

2018 GROSSMONT GRIFFINS MEN’S BASKETBALL

EL CAJON – The Grossmont College men’s basketball team had three players named to the first team All-PCAC South team.
Sophomore guard BRYCE PARSONS, out of West Hills High, averaged 17.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game to earn first team all-conference status.
Sophomore forward RONALD BLAIN, of McDonough, Ga., averaged 13.7 points per game and 10.3 rebounds to make first team.
Sophomore guard DAVID WHEELER, from Mira Mesa High, averaged 12 points and 3.1 rebounds to make it on to the first team.
Grossmont sophomore JOSH MORAN, from Serra High, earned All-PCAC South second-team honors with his 10 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Sophomore guards KYLE RUIZ, also out of West Hills, and OSCAR LIMON, of Otay Ranch, were named honorable mention All-PCAC South.
Grossmont was ineligible for postseason play.
The Griffins finished 18-9 overall and held rankings well inside the top 20 heading into the final two weeks of the season.
Grossmont won 10 of its last 13 games with two of the losses coming to the No. 1 seeded team in the Southern California Regional, state second-ranked San Diego City.
The Knights beat the Griffins by just five and four points in the home-and-home league series after a lopsided loss to City in the Grossmont Tournament championship game in December.
