Mack hits three HRs in Hawks’ sweep

WEST COVINA – Former Granite Hills High star KAYLA MACK hit three home runs for the San Diego Christian Hawks in a doubleheader sweep at the NAIA So. Cal Classic on Monday afternoon.
Mack was a first team All-East County selection last season as a senior with the Eagles.
After taking hard losses at the first day of the Classic, the Hawks won both games via the run-rule on day two.
The Hawks defeated Northwest Christian 11-3 in six innings before dismantling the Ottawa (Ariz.) Spirit 14-3 in six innings.
The wins get the Hawks back to an even 4-4 on the year.
In Game 1, Mack hit her second home run of the game in the at-bat before Jordan Neal’s 2-run shot to left field to end the game.
Mack hit a 3-run homer to left in the fourth inning and tallied five RBI on the day.
Mack has been off to a huge start so far this season.
Game 2 was just as nice and plentiful of runs, but it took the Hawks four innings to kick into gear. Ottawa-Arizona scored runs in the bottom of the first for the 1-0 lead and a run in the second for a 2-1 lead. SDC scored in the second on an RBI groundout by
SDC opened up the flood gates in the fifth, as Mack hit her third homer of the day, a 3-run missile.
The Hawks will welcome Marymount California on Thursday for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
