WEST HILLS 2, STEELE CANYON 2 – In a major matchup, the third-ranked Cougars got goals from SAVANNA THOMPSON and JORI HAYES, while JALYN LUPO assisted on both tallies with throw-ins deep into the box.
Steele Canyon scored both goals in the first half.
West Hills scored late in the 65th minute to get the draw.
RHIANNA SPECK was named Steele Canyon’s Player of the Match.
West Hills is 2-0-1 in the Grossmont Hills League, while Steele Canyon is 1-0-1 n the GHL.
GRANITE HILLS 1, VALHALLA 0 – Senior CHEYENNE SMITH had the shutout in goal for Granite Hills, which won its Grossmont Hills League opener.
EMMA RAYMOND scored and EMMALIE KEALALUHI had the assist.
HELIX 1, EL CAPITAN 0 – Helix improved to 2-0-1 in the Grossmont Valley League good for a first-place tie in the standings.
SANTANA 2, MONTE VISTA 1 – Santana improved to 2-0-1 in the Grossmont Valley League to earn a tie at the top of the current table.
EL CAJON VALLEY 2, MOUNT MIGUEL 1 – The Braves notched their first Grossmont Valley League win of the season against the host Matadors.
