MONTE VISTA 2, EL CAPITAN 1 – Junior ALLEN ALBA and sophomore GIOVANNI VELAZQUEZ scored for the Monarchs (8-1-5), who improved to 2-0 in the Grossmont Valley League.
Monte Vista led 1-0 at halftime.
It was the league season-opener for El Capitan.
WEST HILLS 1, GROSSMONT 0 – The Wolf Pack scored in the 13th minute to pull off the Hills League upset on the road.
The Wolf Pack improved to 1-1 in the GHL.
EL CAJON VALLEY 1, HELIX 1 – At La Mesa, Helix led 1-0 at halftime, as the teams ended the Hills contest in a draw.
Helix (5-5-2) is 1-0-1 in the Hills League, while El Cajon Valley (5-5-6) is 0-0-2.
GRANITE HILLS 3, STEELE CANYON 0 – Granite Hills scored in the 2nd, 23rd, and 67th minute to win the Hills League game, improving to 1-0-1 in league.
LIBERTY CHARTER 4, SAN DIEGO ACADEMY 2 – Liberty led 2-1 at halftime en route to picking up its third win of the season in a non-league game against the Cavs.
RIVER VALLEY 11, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA YESHIVA 0 – River Valley won its second-straight and is 2-1 in the Frontier-Pioneer League after the win.
