LOS ANGELES (12-29-17) – Grossmont College enjoyed a nice holiday break before making their trip up north to Los Angeles.
The Griffins (9-5) played their last contest at San Diego Miramar on the 9th of December.
The host, L.A. Harbor, after defeating Grossmont tonight, 60-56, are now 10-5, with a 4-game winning streak.
The Griffins led 36-31 at the half, however, were outscored in the 2nd, 29-20, so it seemed as if the contest was very close.
“We missed 7 foul shots that need to be made along with too many turnovers that will be fixed, but ultimately we lost because of the combination of mistakes,” Said Griffin head coach DOUG WEBER.
Grossmont is usually great at the turnover ratio, and done fairly well at the foul line.
“I do however tip my cap to Harbor as they are a great ball club,” said Weber.
It was another spectacular evening for Grossmont’s leading scorer, sophomore BRYCE PARSONS, who finished with 20 points.
RONALD BLAIN had 9 rebounds for the Griffins.
The Griffins will lick their wounds, take a few days off, regroup and head to Oceanside next Tuesday, Jan. 2nd at Mira Costa College vs. Cerritos College (12-3), who have won their last two contests.
