SAN PASQUAL (11-29- 2017) – It seems that Eagle is what the doctor ordered for the holidays for the Monte Vista Monarchs.
Whether served as original or Golden, the Monarchs aren’t picky when it comes to wins.
The Monarchs have not been anything flashy or overconfident, just playing like a well-oiled machine, knocking off the San Pasqual Golden Eagles on the road by 10 Wednesday evening, 76-66.
Monte Vista has played two close ones, including the opener against Granite Hills at Monte Vista, edging the Eagles, 64-61,
The Monarchs are looking good so far as skipper MIKE TULLEY, as always has his squad well prepared.
Anytime you can win on the road, you’re doing something right.
Once again DEONDRE McHAYLE was the hard man to cover on the court.
Granite Hills head coach DAN DUFFY said the day before that McHayle was a fantastic athlete and tough to cover.
McHayle led the point totals for the second game in a row with 20, while grabbing 8 rebounds and recording 4 steals.
DEMARCUS MCKAN added 18 points and 7 rebounds for Monte Vista, while JAIDEN DAWN had 8 points and kept great defensive pressure on San Pasqual’s top player all evening.
Monte Vista will take on San Diego Academy on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m. as the home team.
San Diego Academy is 0-1 after losing to Santana, 64-39.
The Monarchs should be 3-0 after this contest.
