SANTEE – The Santana Sultans shutout the Clairemont Chieftains, 31-0, in a non-league game at Santee Community Stadium Friday night.
Both teams are now 2-2.
JOSH OEDEWALT threw a touchdown pass to DAVON CHESTNUT for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Santana turned the ball over on downs to Clairemont and the guests took over, but the Sultans’ COLTON SNIPES would return the favor with an interception.
After the pick, Oedewaldt threw a touchdown pass to LANDON WOOD from 25 yards out, making it 14-0.
Later in the 2nd, the Sultans recovered a fumble deep in Clairemont territory.
Oedewalt then found Wood for their second touchdown hookup.
Wood also had two sacks in the contest.
Oedewaldt finished with four touchdown passes on the night.

PINE VALLEY – Silver Valley senior Michael Marrero had three interceptions and Lillyan Greenslate kicked three extra points to become of first female kicker in Trojans’ history, as the visitors from Yermo blanked the host Mountain Empire Red Hawks, 29-0, Friday night.
The Trojans came in with just one game under their belt after their previous game was canceled due to hot weather conditions.
But they looked in mid-season form, as senior EJ Ane rushed for 219 yards on 24 carries and QB Anthony Brown was 9 of 16 for 150 yards and a touchdown, and also carried the ball seven times for 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior WYATT MANN had five receptions for the Red Hawks
CAMERON WILL had 12 tackles for Mtn. Empire, while senior COLTON ALLEN and junior DALLAS PRINCE had 10 apiece.
Red Hawks senior ISAIAH COLEMAN forced two fumbles and defended two passes.
Silver Valley has outscored its two opponents 87-18.
Sergio Carrillo made a 24-yard touchdown catch for the Trojans
Brown completed a 22-yard pass to Ane, to set up the TD pass to Carillo in the first quarter.
Brown had a 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make it 20-0 Trojans. Silver Valley led 21-0 at halftime.
The Trojans out-gained the Red Hawks, 381-179.
Marrero had 50 yards receiving in addition to his three picks.
Joseph Thomas recovered a fumble and ran it in for a TD.
