Grossmont 3, Christian 1: Foothillers score all their runs in the third and do the rest to shut down the Patriot offense.
It was scoreless between the Foothillers and the Patriots heading into the top of the third inning when SAMARIA ROOPE led off with a single, up stepped CHLOE CAMARERO (2-4, 2 RBI, R, HR) who on a 0-1 count took the offering and crushed it over the wall to make it 2-0. Following the 2-run homer DESINY BACON (1-3, R) reached on an error, MOANA PISIA would single and Bacon would come into score on the reached error by ALEXIS COLLINS (2-3, RBI, R) to make it 3-0.
Christian answered a couple of innings later in the bottom of the fifth as MALLORY STEELE led off with a single, SILENT RAIN ESPINOZA (2-4) singled and ASHLEY CARTER (2-3, 2B, RBI) knocked in Steele with a single making it 3-1 but that would be all they would get as Roope was able to get out of the jam.
Grossmont again threatened to get the run back in the top of the sixth as with one down TAYLOR BAEZ doubled but she would be stranded.
Heading into the bottom of the sixth still trailing the Patriots had some ideas as AUDREY SHEBLOSKI led off with a double, she would advance to third on the sacrifice bunt by ELLE LINDBLAD, ALEXA HENDERSON walked and TENAY BENEGAS singled but Roope would again get out of the jam to end the threat.
The Patriots again threatened in the bottom of the seventh when Carter singled and Shebloski walked but Roope would strikeout Lindblad to end the game.
