EL CAJON (4-1-17) — Nearly unbeatable Eastlake will face off against Granite Hills at the Eagles diamond in a championship game of the Bill Dickens/City/Metro Tournament Saturday (Apr. 1) at 10:30 a.m.
Taking on No. 1 Eastlake is almost like a certain loss. Only one East County team has beaten the South Bay team and that would be Grossmont, who did it in 12 innings by a score of 5-4 on March 11.
Only two days ago the Titans clobbered the Eagles 18-1, thus Granite Hills can only improve against the birds.
In another Bill Dickens/City/Metro Tournament championship game, Christian will meet Montgomery at Madison on Saturday (Apr. 1) at 10:30 a.m.
Ironically this is another situation where these two teams have just played two days ago and Montgomery skunked the Patriots 5-0.
In a third Bill Dickens/City/Metro Tournament championship game, Monte Vista will travel to South Bay to face Chula Vista at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (Apr. 1).
Again, this is an instance where East County’s Monte Vista lost to Chula Vista 4-0 on March 25.
