Griffins sweep series from Wolverines

EL CAJON (3-5-17) — ROBERT BOSTEDT erupted for five hits in six at-bats, including a home run, to help carry Grossmont College to a 14-5 romp over visiting San Bernardino Valley in a conference encounter on Saturday (Mar. 4) at Noel Mickelsen Field.

Bostedt, out of Granite Hills High, raised his season average to .379 and his RBI count to 15.

Grossmont catcher TREVOR BEARD rapped two hits and MICHAEL DIFFLEY was 3-for-4.

NOAH STROHL was 3-for-4 with three RBI for Grossmont.

ANDREW MITCHEL allowed only one run and three hits in six innings to pick up the victory.

The Griffins now stand at 8-5-1 going into their series this week with Southwestern.

Grossmont will host the Jaguars on Tuesday (2 p.m.) and Friday (noon), while the Griffins will travel down the freeway for Thursday’s matchup, also at 2 p.m.

Grossmont swept three straight from San Bernardino Valley, including road games last Tue. and Thur., to extend its unbeaten string to six games, including one tie.
