First-place Griffins knock off closest contender Mesa

SAN DIEGO (2-16-17) — Grossmont College women’s basketball team traveled to San Diego Mesa College on Wednesday (Feb. 15) for a game which they won 57-39.
With the victory, the Griffins clinched at least a share of the Pacific Coast-South championship.
Leading scorers were KAMREE HARRISON with 16 points, while KYRA BRUESEWITZ pitched in 12 points and COURTNEY BRANCH added 10.
Other Griffin scoring contributors were BREANNA LINSON (6 pts), BRITTANY GAFARE (4), JUSTINE GARDE (3), RANAE HANNIBAL (2), LYDIA HALCOTT (2) and SATORI ROBERSON (2).
The Griffins now stand at 10-13, 6-1 PCAC, and will next host Southwestern College on Friday (Feb. 17) for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
Grossmont can win the title outright with a win in the game against the Jaguars.
