Griffins lose yet another 1-run game

RIVERSIDE (2-10-17) — Grossmont College fell behind the Riverside City College Tigers late in the game, losing 3-2 in Thursday’s (Feb. 9) non-league encounter that was a game previously scheduled as a home game, but was postponed by rain and moved to Riverside.

The Griffins have yet to play a home game and aren’t scheduled to do so until next Thursday, meaning the tough-luck Griffs will play their first eight games of the season on the road.

Today’s game at Santa Ana has been postponed, as well.

The Griffins took the lead in the sixth on 2-run homer by NOAH STROHL. It was Strohl’s second home run of the season after hitting eight bombs last season as a freshman.

ROBERT BOSTEDT was also 2-for-4 in the loss.

For Grossmont, DONAVON McCRYSTAL gave up one hit in seven innings. CORY JOHNSON (0-1) suffered the loss with 2 runs allowed in the bottom of the eight.
