Chaffey walk-off walk beats Griffins

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (2-5-17) — Grossmont College baseball came from behind to tie its game against Chaffey 5-5 in the top of the 9th as NOAH STROHL whacked a RBI double and ROBERT BOSTEDT singled in a run.

But it wasn’t enough as Chaffey pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the 9th on a pair of walks to win it, 6-5, on Saturday.

Bostedt led the Grossmont 6-hit attack with two of Grossmont’s six hits.

Seven Grossmont pitchers strolled to the mound but could not hold off the Panthers, who finished with 11 hits.

The Griffins will play Santa Ana at home on Tuesday (Feb. 7) at 2 p.m. at Noel Mickelsen field.
