SPRING VALLEY (1-15-17) — El Capitan ran the table on Morse in Saturday’s (Jan. 14) Mount Miguel Shoot Out in Spring Valley, finishing with a 40-33 victory.
STEPHANIE ADAMS rolled a double-double in leading the Vaqueros with 21 points and 19 rebounds.
MARIE COOK pitched in 14 points, had 7 rebounds, 6 assists and a block.
No one scored in double digits for Morse.
El Capitan: Stephanie Adams 21 (19 reb, 2 ast, 3 blk, 1 stl), Marie Cook 14 (7 reb, 6 ast, 1 blk), Devon Bullock 4 (1 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl), McKenzi Kygar 1 (1 reb, 2 stl).
WEST HILLS 52, OLYMPIAN 20 – West Hills wasted no time in gaining the lead on Olympian, scoring 14-6 in the first quarter and 28-8 by halftime of Saturday’s (Jan. 14) Mount Miguel Shoot Out in Spring Valley.
KERRY DANIELS led West Hills with 13 points, while MAYA CLEMONS pitched in 11 and HELENA KEOHANE added 10.
“I thought we played with a lot of energy today and last night, especially on the defensive end,” said Wolf Pack coach RYAN KINSER. “Offensively we need to play better, too many missed shots and too many turnovers.”
West Hills: Kerrie Daniels 13, Maya Clemons 11, Helena Keohane 10, Carly Raley 7, Jessica Fondas-Ryan 4, Vivian Panela 3, Cassie Seaboch 2, Haley Doucette 2.
GROSSMONT 51, SWEETWATER 36 – ATHENA SOTELO paced the Foothillers with 16 points, 5 assists, 4 steals and a block in this non-league game Saturday (Jan. 14) at Sweetwater.
TYANA WARSAW was big on the boards with 10 rebounds to go with 7 points and a block.
“After the last few losses we are slowly starting to come together,” said Grossmont coach GRACE CAMPBELL. “We are gradually getting to the level of play that we should be playing at.”
