LA MESA (1-4-17) — Helix introduced 6-foot-9 junior MILES NORRIS to East County Tuesday (Jan. 3) to resounding reviews by the Highlanders’ fans sitting courtside.
Norris nailed 14 points, while AMARI GREEN and DYLAN LEE each hit 16 tallies as the Highlanders smoked Monte Vista 73-27 in a non-league game.
“It’s not all about Norris,” Highlanders coach JOHN SINGER said. “We have lots of people to go to.
“We know that he’ll be a dominant player but we have a lot of other players that can contribute to the outcome of a game.”
JAYLEN HINSON pitched in 15 points for the Highlanders.
DEONDRE McHAYLE carried the mail for Monte Vista but it was too little, too late.
Norris got off to a flying start with a pair of breakaway hammer throwdowns in the first quarter.
