RANCHO SAN DIEGO (12-20-16) — The Steele Canyon Cougars edged Valley Center 5-4 in the first quarter but led 18-9 by the half in Tuesday’s (Dec. 20) non-league game in Rancho San Diego. But despite being outscored in the third and fourth quarters, the Cougars pulled out the victory 36-31.
“It got a little scary at the end, that’s for sure,” said Cougars coach PETER RUIZ. “We have some things to work on.
“We’re where we’re supposed to be at this point.”
MARIANNA MARTINEZ led the Cougars with 10 points.
Steele Canyon will next play Chula Vista on Saturday (Jan. 7, 2017) in a non-league game at 5:30 in Cougar Town.
