Grossmont learns from top ten SBVC

PALM DESERT (11-05-16) — The Grossmont College Griffins discovered why San Bernardino Valley College is ranked No. 10 in the state.

In Friday’s (Nov. 4) quarterfinal action of the Frank Garcia/COD Tip Off Classic the Griffins succumbed to the Wolverines 75-48, and now will play for the third place trophy on Saturday (Nov. 5) against Imperial Valley at 1 p.m.

The Griffins were never really in this game as they trailed San Bernardino 35-18 by halftime.

Things didn’t improve a whole lot in the final 20 minutes as the Wolverines posted their second win in as many starts and the Griffins fell to 1-1.

DANIEL McCOWN paced the Griffins with 13 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds and one steal.

BRYCE PARSONS, who was the sharpshooter the previous night, rang up 10 points and 5 rebounds.

RONALD BLAIN pitched in with 4 points, 2 blocks and 4 rebounds in the loss.

DAVID WHEELER chipped in 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the Griffins.
