SANTEE (11-4-16) — KENDALL CADY comes from a long line of elite East County athletes.
The West Hills junior standout volleyball player is the third generation following in the footsteps of her grandfather Ron Cady and father Todd Cady.
Ron Cady was the first All American at the University of San Diego, playing third base for the Toreros in 1965. Todd Cady, a CIF record holder with a handful of baseball records, led the Grossmont High Foothillers to three San Diego Section championships. He went on to Arizona State University and helped the Sun Devils to two College World Series titles, and was eventually a third round draft pick of the Florida Marlins.
Kendall Cady has led the Wolf Pack the past three years to three consecutive league titles, losing only one league game during that stretch. She was a first team All-Grossmont Hills League selection as a sophomore and junior, and was a two-time Fall Classic first team pick. She was selected the Most Valuable Player of the Grossmont Hills League as a junior.
Her most outstanding statistic is a 4.692 GPA, which ranks her second in her class.
The Wolf Pack (23-4 overall, 8-0 in league) is the No. 3 seed in the SDCIF Division I playoffs. They will meet the No. 11 seed La Jolla Vikings Friday night (Nov. 4) in the quarterfinals at West Hills at 7 p.m.
