Young added a second quarter touchdown on a 60-yard run on a double handoff, as he got a toss and came back down the right side for the long score, putting Helix ahead 28-0 with 10:07 left in the first half.

West Hills running back JOVAN BEA would also seem to manage a strong run early in several of the Wolf Pack’s first-half drives, but those hopes were quickly fizzled by the Highlanders’ defense. Bea totaled 50 yards on the night.

With eight minutes left in the second quarter, junior RASHAD SCOTT had a 41-yard punt return down the West Hills 14.

On the next play, Baker threw a screen behind the line of scrimmage to Young, who knocked off his closest pursuer, then raced in between a pair of defenders near the goal line for the score and a 35-0 lead.

On the opening kickoff of the second half, senior EVAN PERKINS picked up on bounding ball on the right side at the 8-yard line and won a sprint past the coverage team back down the left side for the 92-yard score.

Freshman ELEYON NOA had a 31-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and rushed eight times for 70 yards.

Helix junior QB Carson Baker threw for 106 yards completing all four of his attempts.

West Hills (5-3, 1-2 GHL) drove inside the red zone with four minutes left in the game, but Helix forced a fumble and recovered.

JAYLEN ARNOLD relieved Baker and had a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Pitching in on the shutout for the Highlanders were BLAYKE DE LA ROSA, MICHAEL SHAWCROFT, D’ANDRE FIELDS, JESSE LEASAU, JONATHAN MILLSAP and TYREECE PATANE.
