Griffs’ bats silenced by SBCC’s McNamee in playoff opener

EL CAJON (5-8-16) — The Grossmont Griffins will need to get a few more hits than they did on Saturday (May 7) if they want to get the 2016 CCCAA Super Regional round of the CCCAA playoffs.

The Griffins (26-13-1) only managed two hits in a 5-0 loss to Santa Barbara (29-11).

KATIE SCHMIDT (Valhalla) and RACHEL EVERETT (Bonita Vista) were the Griffins that reached base safely.

Should the Griffins defeat Santa Barbara in their game on Sunday (May 8) that starts at noon, there would be a second game shortly after that would decides who moves on.
