EL CAJON (2-20-16) — In Grossmont Valley League action on Senior Night, Friday (Feb. 19) the Valhalla Norsemen stole one against the host Braves 31-24.
The Braves trailed the Norsemen early on 11-2 after one period of play and were able to pull within six at the break 17-11. Both teams in the third period were able to show their defensive prowess as it was 19-14 still in favor of Valhalla going into the final period. El Cajon Valley had a chance to take the contest but couldn’t get over the hump.
The always sure-handed sophomore LEANNA WATSON paced the Braves as she was able to scorch her way to 14 points which included a couple three pointers. She also corralled 6 boards and had 3 steals.
