CLOVIS – Helix Charter’s Trence Gillem lost to D.J. Lloren, of Buchanan, in the 132-pound semifinals of the 39th Annual Doc Buchanan Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Clovis High.
On Friday, Gillem defeated Curtis Booth, of Folsom, 6-2, in the quarterfinals. He won his Round of 16 match Gillem over Tony Mendoza, of Selma, by fall at 4:46. In the Round of 32, Gillem won by major decision of Moses Contreras, of Madera, 19-8.
Gilles finished third at the prestigious event. He was seeded sixth prior to the tourney.
