OCEANSIDE (2-4-16) — The road has not been a kind place for the Grossmont College Women’s basketball team this season. Like 0-5 not kind heading into the game at MiraCosta (0-18, 0-9 PCAC) on Wednesday (Feb. 3). Make that 1-5 now as the Griffins escaped with a 66-63 victory over the last place Spartans.
JAZMINE BRADLEY (Monte Vista) led the Griffins (7-15, 4-5 PCAC) with 19 points while CHRISTINA BARRAMEDA (Ramona) had 18 points.
“The team fought hard,” head coach KAREN CAIRES said. “MiraCosta never let up. We played a hard, solid 40 minute effort.”
San Diego Mesa (7-10, 5-3 PCAC) comes to Grossmont on Friday for a 7:00 p.m. tip off.
Second place Palomar has a 2.5 game cushion over Mesa. Grossmont is a game and a half behind Mesa. Mt. San Jacinto is leading the conference. The Eagles are undefeated and are ranked as the top team in the State.
