EL CAJON (1-31-16) — Fullerton College, who was pre-seasoned ranked the defacto 11th best team in Southern California, came into El Cajon on Saturday (Jan. 30) off an upset victory over Palomar College in their season opening game.
Grossmont came into the doubleheader against Fullerton off of a run-rule victory over fellow Orange Empire Conference member Golden West.
If the first three games of the season are any indication, the ladies from El Cajon could be in for a great season.
The Griffins swept the twin bill by scores of 8-4 and 8-1.
KIANA INDIAN (1-0, San Dieguito Academy) and RACHEL EVERETT (2-0, Bonita Vista) were the winning pitchers on the day.
Grossmont will be back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 3) in a very tough early season matchup. Santiago Canyon (5-0) will come to Grossmont for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch.
