EL CAJON – Six-foot-3 senior forward COLE HENDERSON turned in a powerful double-double of 18 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks to carry the Norsemen to a Grossmont Conference crossover victory over visiting El Cajon Valley, 64-56.
Henderson was 3-for-6 from long distance and 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
This was no solo act, however, as NATHAN YOUSIF buried 4 of 8 shots from 3-point distance and crashed the boards for 8 rebounds.
Not to be overlooked was the overlooked was the work of swift JORDAN ELLIS, who skirted the floor for 15 points.
At one stretch Valhalla (12-5) led by 16 points over the upset-minded Braves (2-12).
One thing Valhalla couldn’t deal with was the work of El Cajon Valley’s 6-foot-7 senior RONNE READUS, who banged in 24 points and crashed the boards for 17 rebounds.
His future is up in the air as he hasn’t made the decision whether to play basketball or football at the collegiate level.
AHMAD SULYMAN added 17 points including a pair of threes for the Braves.
