CAMARA DOUGLAS executed a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Matadors.

AMBER HARD chipped in with a personal best of 12 points and garnered 5 steals, as did point guard LAILA SMITH. A sparky sophomore guard, Smith came one point short of a triple-double with 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 9 rebounds.

“It’s not often that you have three players reaching their personal scoring highs in the same game,” Mount Miguel coach ROBBIE SANDOVAL noted. “But we have so many new players it’s not unbelievable.”

“Our second half defense was much better and allowed us to settle into the game,” Sandoval said.
