Red Hawks’ second-half Will strong enough for first win

PINE VALLEY (9-26-15) — The MOUNTAIN EMPIRE RED HAWKS got their first win of the season over Lutheran on Friday (Sept. 25) by a 33-26 score.
Mountain Empire (1-4) who has been a second half team all season, continued to win the second half, out scoring Lutheran by 27-8.
Quarterback VICTOR PARRA went 6 of 20 for 124 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception.
JAMES WILL led the ground game with 18 carries for 182 yards and a trio of scores.
Wide receivers WYATT MANN hauled down a 33-yard aerial for a touchdown, and ALEX TORRES also snagged a pass from Parra for a score.
The Red Hawks logged four sacks, JAMES BRASWELL (8 yards), CAMERON WILL (13 yards), SHAHIB VANN and MICHAEL STOGSDILL, who recorded his East County leading 5th sack.
Lutheran (1-3) controlled the first quarter as the Red Hawks only ran three plays. Lutheran wanted to control the game as they ran and recovered three consecutive onside kicks, forcing the Red Hawks down 18-0 early in the second quarter.
