Helix, Christian stay pat; Grossmont, Valhalla receive votes

SAN DIEGO (9-21-15) — The week five rankings were released this morning with not much movement in the top five.
Helix stays put in the second spot, however they did pick up three first place votes and narrowed Mission Hills lead to only 23 points. In last week’s poll it was a 35 point gap between the two schools.
Rancho Bernardo dropped three spots after suffering their first loss of the season. The biggest jump comes from La Costa Canyon jumping four spots to sixth.
Christian stays pat in the ninth spot.
Eastlake and San Marcos climb into the top ten spots. A week ago Eastlake was 13th according to the point totals. San Marcos gained 22 points to hop into the tenth spot.
As you can see below, there is a huge gap between the sixth and seventh spots (58 points).
In the receiving votes, Grossmont picked up five points to eight points and Valhalla garners a vote.
Games that feature East County teams that are in the poll this week include: Imperial at 9 Christian, Lincoln at RV Grossmont and RV Valhalla at Patrick Henry. Helix will have their third bye of the campaign.
